Ryan : The Little Model!

I had taken Monique's portraits before and was so excited to work with her again! Ryan, 5 years old, was not too excited to take pictures this day. As we got farther into the session, he warmed up and did a fantastic job (even if he didn't want to sit in the grass lol.) We had decided to go to a local college where I had never taken portraits before, and I fell in love with the location! There was a beautiful pond, great open areas of grass, pathways, and even a cute little bridge that I encouraged Ryan to pose near for a shot.

He is another child that I was lucky enough to photograph with big blue eyes! Oh wow they stand out and shine! The way the light catches in their eyes is phenomenal!

A few hours before Ryan's session, I had suggested to Monique another outfit idea along with his blue shirt she was going to have him wear. I thought it would be adorable if we had gotten him in suspenders and thick, black-rimmed glasses for his second outfit change. She fell in love with the idea and brought him a white button up. I already had the glasses from some previous sessions and just ending up buying some suspenders from the local store.

It was a complete success and I am so glad Ryan cooperated with these photos!

Evan & Bella // Siblings

Considering this session didn't go as planned, these kids are seriously photogenic! You actually probably would never be able to tell that this little girl was not happy unless I showed you an outtake (which I did take and kept for your viewing pleasure! lol.) I always try and have a back-up plan when little ones are little uncooperative. Bella, one years old, was really attached to her mom this day, and according to mom, she is always attached to her (we call her "Momma's Girl.") This is not an uncommon thing though. Most babies at this age (between 9-24 months) tend to sometimes gets nervous or feel strange around new people, especially if they have never gotten their portraits taken professionally before (which little Miss Bella hasn't.) You would never be able to tell but, in less obvious portraits, I had incorporated mom in without getting mom in the portrait at all. Just a little cropping magic and wala! You have yourself some beautiful shots. Of course, it helps that the subject is also so stinking adorable!

Now Evan, age 3, was LOVING the fact that he was getting his picture taken. He let me pose him, he smiled on cue, what more could a photographer ask for? And those eyes! Both of them had gorgeous blue eyes. You all know how I feel about children with blue eyes. To die for!

In the end, mom was happy with all the shots we had gotten and so was I. The most important shot was, of course, the children together and I got that along with their individual shots as well.

So handsome right?

OUTTAKE! This was Bella throughout the whole session (except of course the smiles I got lol)

CJ wants to be a Firefighter when he Grows Up!

Probably one of my favorite sessions to date! Miss Haylee contacted me to get her little nephew CJ's pictures done with me and I couldn't had been more excited when she had told me what he was going to be wearing for these pictures! It just so happened too that she worked at the same place I was cross promoting with : The Children's Museum of the Greater Fall River!

When I first met up with Haylee, I knew right away that the session was going to go fantastic! CJ was with Haylee this day also and he was the one of the sweetest, most well-behaved boy I had ever met. I was sure he was going to be a blast to take pictures of.

The day of the session, we decided to meet at one of the local fire stations where I believe Haylee's uncle worked at. As soon as CJ got out of the car, he was so excited to take pictures that he ran over to me and gave me a hug. :) Haylee had three outfits to put him in, but I have to say, his first outfit was my favorite, especially since it was the most meaningful. The firefighter uniform that we had CJ wear for the photo shoot was, if I'm not mistaken, Haylee's grandfathers's uniform who had passed away. This is why it was so meaningful and, of course, was the most adorable! It was very big and heavy for him to wear but that was the point of it :) He was a trooper wearing that uniform for as long as he did!

I am so happy with how CJ's pictures came out and I can't wait for Haylee to ask me to do more of them! It meant so much to do these for her and I have to say it touched my heart with what he's been through and how he has overcome certain obstacles. After everything, he is still such a happy kid and I love that about him. I couldn't really decide which were my favorites since I loved them all, but here they are :)

My Little Brother is already 10!

It's always a different experience when your photographing your own family! My little brother did not want to take his pictures this day and of course with some children, you have to bribe them! lol. So I told Donovin that I would get him a "treat" if he would let me take his pictures. It had literally been about 2-3 years since he had gotten his pictures taken professionally. So it was definitely time for an update!

Donovin loves to skateboard, so I thought would be cute to get him posed with his skateboard and skate shoes :) He didn't mind doing these poses but when it came down to putting him in a suit that my mother had wanted him to wear, it was all downhill from there lol. Fortunately, I know some tricks into getting my little brother to smile, especially since I know what makes him laugh. I got a lot of handsome photos of him that really made and still make me feel old! He is not so little anymore going into 5th grade and being 10 years old! The double digits! Eek! Can kids just be little forever?

Here is my handsome little brother! Enjoy!

Sophia & Andrew // Back2School Bookworm & Boho-Inspired Mini Sessions

This was my first ever mini-session event and Melissa was the first to book for Sophia and Andrew's pictures! I had such a blast with them even though Andrew was not really into the whole picture taking part of it lol. Considering this fact, I thought I had gotten some great shots of Andrew smiling and laughing! I even tricked him into thinking I wasn't taking any pictures of him, and got him to look at the camera with this adorable serious face! You'll see it down below in black and white with his glasses actually on his face :)  When he grows up, he is seriously going to be a little comedian.

Sophia, only 3 year old, did fantastic on her own as she was posing and smiling! She truly was a little model! I couldn't resist getting a good amount of the pictures done with Sophia that I even insisted on doing some with her with the Boho-Inspired theme as well, even though they had paid to do the Back2School Bookworm theme! She loved playing with the guitar and all she had to do was look at the camera with those big blue eyes and I ended getting gorgeous shots that way too! Enjoy some of my favorites from the session!
